Private Foundation

A Private Foundation offers total control to the donor but some experts recommend that the donor should be prepared to contribute approximately $2 million over several years to produce suitable economies of scale. Private Foundations are subject to the so-called Private Foundation restrictions and have many administrative and reporting requirements. Contributions of real estate and non-publicly traded securities produce tax deductions based on their cost, not current value.
